About ChinaGeeks

ChinaGeeks is a website about China. We post articles, original essays, translations, news, and relevant links to further the English-language discourse on China. Topics covered include (but are not limited to) history, current events, politics, literature, culture, and philosophy. We take pride in our writing standards-everything you find here will be well-written and worth your time (we hope!)

We’re also striving to create a community here; a community that embraces the many people throughout the world who (1) speak English and (2) are interested in China. Please join us, and leave us a comment or even join our team of contributors!

For those more interested in the philosophy of ChinaGeeks founder and editor C. Custer, we refer you to this interview on CN Reviews.

Comments Policy

You have the right to express any opinion you like, as long as you express it in a civil manner. Name calling, ad-hominem attacks, excessive cursing, or any other sort of violent, threatening language will result in your comment being “disemvoweled” (all the vowels in your post will be removed) or deleted entirely. Comments should be relevant to the post they’re attached to or another comment on that post, repeatedly posting the same thing across posts or repeatedly posting off-topic comments will be considered spamming. Obviously, spam is also not tolerated.

Notes

If you don’t have Chinese installed on your computer, you might see boxes or question marks instead of chinese characters (quick test: can you see these characters 汉字?). If you’d like to install Chinese, please refer to this useful guide for Windows users. (Mac users shouldn’t have any issues).
